circa 1930 cellulose Wade Carnival figure ART DECO
1153
circa 1930 cellulose Wade Carnival figure. It was designed by the famous sculptor Jessie Van Hallen, and has the leaping deer mark under the base. The name of this piece is "Carnival 7". As with most cellulose Wade figurines of the period the cellulose finish has crazed and there are areas where the paint has flaked, having said that this is in much nicer condition than these figurines are usually in. It is 18.5cm high. These were only made for a short period of time at the end of the 1920's and the beginning of the 1930's.
